In order to develop a close relationship with the territory and the enterprises, universities and research institutions started promoting a different model of collaboration between universities and companies centered on lab villages.
A lab village is a hub of joint laboratories for advanced research and development, where university researchers, post-docs, master and PhD students, and R&D company employees work together, in a continuative and systematic way, by sharing know-how and research structures with the aim of contributing to the development of the territory.
